The invention relates to a pipe clamp, for example for use on a bicycle, which can easily be fitted. The pipe clamp consists of two approximately semicircular pipe clamp parts and two separating regions. In this case, one of the two separating regions can be designed such that it can be fitted in advance, for example via a screw with a nut. In the mounted state, the other overlapping region has a mutual overlap, over a specific circumferential region, with a mutual support, which acts in the circumferential direction, of both pipe clamp parts via at least in each case one end face which runs approximately radially in the direction of the pipe axis. The one pipe clamp part, which is constructed with the internal overlapping region, is stressed by elastic means or by intrinsic elasticity in order to occupy a greater distance from the pipe when it is not mounted and, during mounting, engages with the supporting surfaces, by means of the external overlapping region of the other pipe clamp part and by proximity with the pipe, against the force of the elastic means. In consequence, this pipe clamp can be mounted using one hand, as a result of the elastic means or the intrinsic elasticity of the one pipe clamp part, it is self-retaining - even with respect to the force of gravity - and can then be tightened on the separating region, via the screw and nut.
