The peripheral housing wall of a strain-gauge force transducer of the column type of construction consists of two housing rings (8, 13) which lie axially next to one another and are welded to one another. One housing ring (8), the larger one, carries a cable leadthrough (10) and is welded to a ring diaphragm (6) which is made in one piece with the deformation body (1) and lies on the inside of a force-balancing flange (3) at one end of the deformation body (1). The other housing ring (13) is welded to the other force-balancing flange (4). After assembly of the housing ring (8) provided with the cable leadthrough (10), all connections can be made and all measures for adjustment and compensation at the wired-up force transducer can be carried out before the transducer housing is hermetically sealed by inserting the other housing ring (13). <IMAGE>
