A grating drum, especially for grating potatoes, which has axial tracks (2) along its periphery wherein the grater wires (4) sticking out from the drum periphery are anchored. The grater wires(4) are positioned on a retaining wire (5) running along the track (2) and the assembly formed by the grater wires (4) and retaining wire (5) is held in its respective track (2) by strips (6,7) that insert into the track from the drum end, of which one (7) is situated next to the drum periphery and has a ridge (9) on its side, where the ridge (9) fixes radially to an indentation (3) in the track (11). The strip's (7) other side meets a column with the other track (10), through which the grater wires (4) extend. Under this strip (7) is positioned at least one additional strip (6), against whose track-bottom facing side the retainer wire (5), and the graterwires attached to this are pressed in the drum (1) rotation. The latter strip (6) is easily interchangeable with other strips with another radial dimension, so that this other strip (6) can be used to adjust grater wire (4) anchor depth in the track (2) to compensate for grater wire (4) wear.<IMAGE> |
