Alpha-cyano-3-phenyl-A-benzyl 2,2-dimethyl 3-((Z).ROOC-CH =CH-)-cyclopropane-carboxylate derivs. of formula (I), as the separate stereoisomers or their mixtures are new (where A is O, -CH2- or -CO, R is 1-8C, opt. unsaturated, linear, branched or cyclic alkyl and the double bond has Z geometry). (I) are parasiticides, esp. insecticides, acaricides and nematocides for plant and animal use. They may be used to control aphids, coleoptera and lepidoptera larvae by application at 10-300 g/hectare. As insecticides they have good killing and knock-down activity, as well as be light-stable and non-toxic to mammals, and may be used to control flies, mosquitos and cockroaches. They are used to control acarier, such as Boophilus ticks (Hgalomnia, Amblyomnia and Rhipicephalus) and mites (sarcoptic,psoroptic and chorioptic). The cpds. may be used in classical formulations, e.g. by spraying onto plants, local application to animal or as animal feed additives. |
