The equipment damps out shock-loads on winches, having one or more intermediate pieces incorporated in the rope (3). These distort plastically under overload. The intermediate piece can be an open ring (2), the rope being attached to its ends near the opening, which can be bridged by a fracturing portion, e.g. a weld seam (8). |
