The described absorbent pad (1), for example sanitary towel, nappy, patient underlay, comprises an absorbent body (2) and a fluid-permeable covering sheet (3). Between absorbent body (2) and covering sheet (3) there is an at least partially fluid-permeable layer of spacers (6), which rests over a large area on the surface of the absorbent body (2). The layer of spacers (6) may be an air-cushion sheet or a sheet having pressure-resistant embossed elevations (7). It has the effect that fluid coming back out of the absorbent body (2) does not wet the covering sheet (3) and consequently the absorbent pad (1) remains dry on the surface. <IMAGE> |
