PURPOSE:To obtain a steel sheet for automobiles having superior corrosion resistance and formability by usng the steel sheet plated with Ni-Zn alloy as a base metal, forming a chromate layer contg. an electrically conductive pigment and Cr as a ground layer on the plated layer, and forming a baking synthetic resin layer contg. the conductive pigment and an anticorrosive pigment thereon. CONSTITUTION:A steel sheet plated with Ni-Zn alloy e.g. an alloy containing, by weight, 11% Ni and 89% Zn in 10-40g/m<2> plating quantity is used as a base metal. On the plated layer a chromate layer contg. a conductive pigment and an anticorrosive pigment is formed in 120-300mg/m<2> plating quantity as a ground layer. Furthermore, a baked synthetic resin layer contg. said pigments is formed in 3-10mu thickness thereon.
