PURPOSE:To obtain a self-emulsifiable antifoaming agent which forms a stable emulsion in the aq. medium by formulating a compsn. contg. several kinds of oil which is liquid at ordinary temp. and an esterified product of polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene ether. CONSTITUTION:The antifoaming agent comprises a compsn. contg. components A and B described hereunder. The component A is a vegetable oil, animal oil, mineral oil, synthetic oil, or a mixture thereof, which is liquid at ordinary temp. in 50-90wt% proportion, and the component B is a compd. expressed by the formula (wherein R<1> is a 1-4C alkyl or alkenyl; R<2> is 7-21C alkyl or alkenyl; (a) is 0-5; (b) is 4-20; the content in { } is a moiety obtd. by random addition or optionally regulated block addition or a combination thereof) in 3-20wt% proportion. The antifoaming agent of this invention is self-emulsifiable due to its high dispersibility in water, forming a stable emulsion in aq. medium as well as exhibiting high antifoaming effect.
