PURPOSE:To save electric power by stopping the operation of a slave processor executing its processing by a command from a host processor by an operation stopping instruction and restarting the operation of the slave processor when an instruction selecting the slave processor is activated. CONSTITUTION:When the slave processor 2 starts the processing by a command from the host processor 1, a selecting signal 15 is activated, the output of a latch consisting of two input NOR circuits 32, 33 is activated, a clock signal 14 is inputted to a two-input AND circuit 34 and a clock 42 is supplied to the inside of the slave processor 2. After completing the processing by the command of the host processor 1, the slave processor 2 executes an operation stopping instruction, so that a signal 41 is activated and the NOR circuit 32 is also activated. The AND circuit 34 masks the clock 14, so that the clock signal 42 is stopped and the system is turned to the stand-by mode. Thus, the power consumption is reduced than the normal operation.
