The method is for erecting a bridge consisting of several juxtaposed prefabricated elements, comprising a metal framework and at least one reinforced or prestressed concrete slab, and supported on bearings on columns. - The first element is assembled on a fixed table (5) at one end of the bridge and moved forward along the table. The second element is assembled on the free part of the table and joined to the first. The two elements are moved further forward over the trajectory of the bridge, and the steps replaced until all elements are in place.
