PURPOSE:A dust-proof agent capable of forming a firm solidified layer on the surface and being fixed and stabilized to prevent coal dust from flying for a long time, by spreading on piled coal contg. wax emulsion. CONSTITUTION:A dust-proof agent comprising wax emulsion. The wax emulsion to be used includes an emulsion prepd. by suspending wax such as animal wax, vegetable wax, mineral wax or petroleum wax in water, and particularly one prepd. by emulsifying petroleum wax of the formula (wherein is 20-40) gives good results. Preferred surfactants to be used, include an anionic one such as higher alcohol sulfate, or Na or K salt of dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid, and higher alcohol EO adduct and alkylphenol adduct may be mentioned as a nonionic one.
