PURPOSE:To obtain a container having flanged sections or a flat plate using blow molding that is free from defect such as deformation, or defective strain, by effecting molding with shape retaining and reinforcing foreign materials inserted and enclosed in opposite sections of a flat plate, flanged sections of a container or the like. CONSTITUTION:When a flat plate (e.g. scaffold plate) 8 of a synthetic resin wherein shape retaining and reinforcing foreign materials 4, 4' are inserted and enclosed is desired to be molded, openable split molds 3, 3' that can be moved horizontally toward or away from the center of a die 2 that will deliver a parison 1 are arranged, and the shape retaining and reinforcing foreign materials 4, 4' in the shape of a narrow rectangular strip are located outside and along the opposite sides of the lowering locus of the parison 1. Then parison 1 is lowered by the die 2 and is formed into a shape of a bottomed cylinder, then the openable split molds 3, 3' are closed around the parison, air is injected into the parison 1 thereby inflating the parison 1 so that the foreign materials 4, 4' are enclosed, and then clamping is effected to obtain the intended flat plate 8.
