The invention describes a field structure (1, 1') of an electrical machine, which field structure (1, 1') comprises a plurality of field slots (2, 2'), wherein a field slot (2, 2') extends from a first surface (11) of the field structure (1, 1') into the body of the field structure (1, 1'), and wherein a field slot (2, 2') comprises a T-shaped cross-sectional area dimensioned to accommodate a magnet pole assembly (3) comprising a corresponding cross-sectional area. The invention further describes a magnet pole assembly (3) comprising a pole piece (31) attached to a carrier (32, 33, 33B, 33C), wherein at least part of the carrier (32, 33, 33B, 33C) is wider than the pole piece (31), and wherein the carrier (32, 33, 33B, 33C) comprises a T-shaped cross-sectional area dimensioned to fit into the T-shaped field slot (2, 2') of such a field structure (1, 1'). The invention also describes an electrical machine comprising an armature structure and such a field structure, and a plurality of such magnet pole assemblies (3) arranged in the field slots (2, 2') of the field structure (1, 1'). The invention also describes a method of forming a T-shaped field slot (2, 2') in a field structure (1, 1') of an electrical machine. |
