PURPOSE:To prevent an enclosing port part from being broken due to a bend of a plastic substrate at the time of cutting of the enclosing port part, and to reduce a foam failure when enclosing a liquid crystal, by dispersing and providing a space on the enclosing port part. CONSTITUTION:When a sealing material 5 consisting of an epoxy resin or a polyester resin is applied to the circumference of one plastic substrate 4, a spacer 12 is applied simultaneously to an enclosing port part. As for the spacer 12, the same material as the sealing material 5 is applied by dispersing it linearly or like a dot so as to project to the outside from an enclosing port part cutting place 13 shown by an alternate long and short dash line. Subsequently, two substrates 3, 4 are sealed by the sealing material 5. After cutting the enclosing port part with a cutter, a liquid crystal material is enclosed into the inside from the enclosing port part. Since the spacer 12 is provided, it is reduced that the enclosing port part is broken due to a bend of the substrate 3 at the time of cutting. |
