PURPOSE:To obtain the titled yarns without mixing spinning unevenness nor hanging up in an easy apparatus, by drawing a filament yarn at a low drawing ratio in a drawing apparatus having a specific heating means, heat-treating the drawn filament yarn to give a filament yarn having a high elongation and low shrinkage, and stretch-breaking the resultant filament yarn. CONSTITUTION:An undrawn filament yarn (Y) is drawn at a low drawing ratio in a heating means 5, constituted of a preheating part (5a) and a contact heating part (5b), and provided between feed rolls 3 and draw rolls 4, the preheating part (5a) being positioned with a gap from the yarn path of the filament yarn (Y). The drawn yarn (Y) is then heat set in a shrinking heat setting means 6 and then stretch-broken between taking off rolls 7 and stretch-breaking rolls 8. Thus, the shrinkage of the filament yarn (Y) is reduced, and the extensibility is increased. The difference in shrinkage is easily caused by the stretch-breaking.
