Provided is a video display technique for minimizing side effects caused by color correction. A video display apparatus is provided with: a video input unit; a color adjustment unit that subjects a video, input into the video input unit, to a color adjustment process; and a display unit that displays the video that has been subjected to the color adjustment by the color adjustment unit. In the color adjustment process relating to the video, the color adjustment unit can divide a color space having three axes, namely brightness or lightness, chroma, and hue, into a plurality of regions, and can perform, individually for each of the plurality of regions, brightness adjustment or lightness adjustment, chroma adjustment, and hue adjustment. In the color space, a region from among the plurality of regions has a first position at which the chroma before the correction has a first value and a second position at which the chroma before the correction has a second value higher than the first value, and the effect of the brightness adjustment or lightness adjustment, the chroma adjustment, and the hue adjustment is smaller at the first position than at the second position. |
