发明名称 PRODUCTION OF FE-TI ALLOY FOR OCCLUDING HYDROGEN
摘要 PURPOSE:To improve durability of a furnace material and to produce a titled alloy in a rare gaseous atmosphere with less contamination from the furnace material by using MgO clinker as the inside wall material of a high frequency induction melting furnace and sintering the same by a molten low-melting Fe-Ti alloy. CONSTITUTION:At least the part of the inside wall of a high-frequency induction melting furnace where the wall contacts a molten metal is constitued by compacting a mixture composed of, for example, magnesia clinker and a water glass liquid in said part and drying the same. A low-melting Fe-Ti alloy is melted by using such furnace to sinter the furnace wall and after the end of the sintering, said alloy is charged into a casting mold and is thus discharged from the furnace. Iron scrap is charged into the melting furnace subjected to said treatment while rare gas such as gaseous Ar is blown therein to melt the scrap then the Ti sponge corresponding to the target compsn. is successively charged thereon and is melted so that the base material is thoroughly melted. After the molten metal is held at the m.p. or above for a while, the molten metal is charged into the casting mold replaced with the rare gas and the Fe-Ti alloy ingot for occluding hydrogen is produced.
