PURPOSE:To improve the operation efficiency of a system by carrying on initial actuation or operation as it is even if the unmounting or abnormal state of an input/output device with low importance is detected in the initial actuation or operation. CONSTITUTION:A processor 2 stores mounting state of respective processor input/output (Pi/o) devices 11-1n and importance information on them in the RAM of the processor, and then accesses the respective devices 11-1n. Acknowledge signals ACK are obtained from the accessed devices 11-1n unless they are not mounted or abnormal, so those signals are monitored by a system console 4. Then if an ACK error occurs, the processor 2 decides on its importance and places the system in a wait state when the importance is high. On the other hand, when the ACK error occurs and the importance is low, the address in an execution address table is cleared so as to prevent the system from being stopped.
