The heat exchange system has a heat exchanger with three tubes (20, 22, 24) placed one inside another and a distributor on each longitudinal end of the heat exchanger for the circulation of a fluid through the outer tube (20) in a counter current to the fluid which flows through the inner tube (24), with the result that heat exchange occurs between the two. In the tube (22) arranged between the outer and inner tubes, a fluid is present so that a leak in the outer or inner tube can be detected. Each tube has fins (100, 106, 112) directed radially inwards, the fins of the outer tube being in good thermal contact with the intermediate tube (22), the fins (106) of which are in good thermal contact with the inner tube, with the result that there is an effective heat flow path therebetween. Such systems can co-operate, for example, with solar collectors. <IMAGE>
