<p>The oil filter assembly includes a sectional housing (2) and removable filter member (30) arranged therein. The housing includes base (4) and cover (6) members having adjacent planar faces (10, 18) containing a plurality of corresponding, circular, concentrically spaced grooves (12, 20) defining ribs (14, 22). A radial groove (16, 24) in the face of each member extends through each of the ribs (14, 22) providing communication between grooves (12, 20). Radial grooves (16, 24) of the housing members (4, 6) extend diametrically radially outwardly in opposite directions and the housing contains inlet and outlet openings (26, 28) communicating with the radial grooves (16, 24). The filter member (30) has a planar configuration, is removably mounted between the base (4) and cover (6) members, and extends between the circular grooves (12, 20). Oil supplied to the inlet (28) is distributed across the face of the associated member via the radial and circular grooves. Oil passes through the filter member (30) and discharges through the outlet (26) via the circular and radial grooves contained in the other housing member.</p> |
