PURPOSE:To strongly hold works with different holding diameters by combining a scroll capable of providing a wide range of stroke of a master claw with a wedge type hydraulic chuck. CONSTITUTION:A shifter 13 is moved in the direction of the arrow by means of pipe 30, a pipe 12, and a ring 10. A sliding element 7 is pressed strongly toward the central direction of a chuck by the wedge-action of the inclined groove 7b of the sliding element 7 engaging with the shifter 13. A master claw is moved by means of a segment-scroll 9 engaging with the sliding element 7, and the work is held securely by a top-jaw 16. When the jaw 16 is opened, the master claw is moved toward the outside by rotating the scroll 9. |
