PURPOSE:To simplify a structure, and also to protect a magnetic tape from dust and a hand by providing the first and the second cover parts for covering both face parts of the magnetic tape in a notch part, respectively, and a means for controlling a form of the second cover part when the cover part is closed. CONSTITUTION:Opening parts 4, 6 and a notch part 5 are opened and closed freely by a turning cover 10 supported pivotally so as to be freely turnable by a cassette body 1. The turning cover 10 has a front cover part 11 for covering the upper and the rear faces of a magnetic tape 3, and a rear cover part 12. The rear cover part 12 is flexible, and when the turning cover 10 is closed, as for the rear cover part 12, the free end is controlled so as to contact to the front cover part 11, and it is deformed by a cam part 13 formed on the notch part. When the turning cover 10 is closed, the magnetic tape 3 is surrounded by the front cover part 11 and the rear cover part 12. When the turning cover 10 is opened, the deformed rear cover part 12 returns to its original shape.
