PERMSELECTIVE MEMBRANE AND COMPOUND MEMBRANE

PURPOSE:To obtain an oxygen-enriching membrane having excellent both characteristics of permeability coefficient and separation factor by using a polymer of styrene having silmethylene grouping at the side chain. CONSTITUTION:The permselective membrane or the compound membrane concists of the styrene polymer contg. silmethylene grouping at the side chain and having a repeating unit shown by the formula wherein (i) and (j) shown as the molecular fraction are regulated to 0<=i/(i+j)<=0.9. Although a supporting body is not limited, the size of the fine pore is regulated to 0.005-1mu. A thin film having 0.005-10mu thickness is preferably laminated on the supporting body. The chain length (n) of siloxane of a pendant group is regulated to >=2, but the range of 3-10 is preferably selected because the mechanical strength of the film is decreased and the moldability of the ultrathin film is also decreased at >=20.
