PURPOSE:To secure comfortable temperature of blow-off air upon shifting to general room heating operation by a method wherein starting of a fan motor is delayed in accordance with a room temperature upon starting room heating operation and, thereafter, the fan motor is operated at a specified rotating speed for air conditioning when a specified blow-off temperature is detected. CONSTITUTION:The room temperature is detected by a suction air temperature sensor 2 upon starting the room heating operation and the starting of the fan motor 8 is delayed for a given time to heat a heat exchanger more when the room temperature is low. Thereafter, the fan motor 8 is operated at a low speed rotation for detecting the blow-off temperature while the blow-off temperature is detected by a blow-off temperature detecting sensor 9 provided at a blow-off port. When the blow-off temperature has arrived at a set blow-off temperature, the fan motor 8 is operated at the specified rotating speed for air conditioning. The low speed rotation of the fan motor 8 provides the blow-off temperature detecting sensor 9 with the correct blow-off air temperature and the speed is very small compared with the specified rotating speed for air conditioning, therefore, air will never strike human bodies upon the low speed operation of the fan motor 8.
