PURPOSE:To calculate a capacity to be measured by simple multiplication and to vary easily a measurement range by discharging the charged capacitor to be measured and integrating its discharging current. CONSTITUTION:A changeover contact chg is operated to charge the capacitor CX on a telephone subscriber line LIN by a power source VS for a sufficient time, and then released to discharge the charge CX through shunting resistances RD2 and RD1. The discharging current is applied to the integrating circuit INTG composed of an integrating capacitor CS and an amplifier AMP, and the output voltage of the integrating circuit is measured a sufficient discharging time later. This voltage is multiplied by a constant to calculate the objective capacity value CX, and the resistance value ratio of the RD1 and RD2 is varied to vary the measurement range easily.
