PURPOSE:The titled fiber that is a conjugated fiber composed of a polyethylene as the sheath and a resin containing a high-density powder in dispersion as the core, thus being suitable for use as a fishery material such as fish net, because of its high density and high strength. CONSTITUTION:The objective product is a sheath-core type conjugated fiber which is composed of (A) a polyethylene resin such as high-density polyethylene as the sheath component and of (C) a resin containing (B) a high-density powder such as lead oxide as the core component where the resin C is compatible to resin (A) and has a lower softening point the component A. The average particle of the high-density powder is less than 10 microns and the volume rations of A, B and C satisfy C/A>=1.0 and 0.5<=A/(A+B+C)<=0.85.
