PURPOSE:To facilitate recognition of the operation condition of an automatic white balance circuit by controlling a picture of an electronic view finder by a control signal obtained from the automatic white balance circuit, and recognizing the operation condition of automatic white balance circuit on a CRT screen. CONSTITUTION:When a power source is turned on, the counter of a control circuit 14 is reset so that white balance can be adjusted at the temprature and color which are set beforehand, and the output signal of a D/A convertor is supplied to an amplifier 9. Simultaneously, a control signal is supplied to an electronic view finder 16 from the counter through a signal line 18. Image signals displayed on a cathod ray tube (CRT) composing of said finder 16 are controlled so as not to acquire a normal picture, and the warning that an automatic white balance circuit is not being in normal operation is generated. By operating an automatic white balance switch SW1, the counter of the control circuit 14 and the D/A convertor run. If the counter operates, the control signal outputted from the signal line 18 disappear, and the image signal displayed on the CRT become normal.
