PURPOSE:To attain efficient transfer by checking the lines of a table of multiple- format in order, and generating line format information as to the (n+1)th line when the format of the n-th and the (n+1)th lines is dissident. CONSTITUTION:A host computer 1 receives a table transfer command from a work station 2, the computer extracts corresponding data from a relational data base 3 and transfers it to a station 2 altogether. The transferred data is a table for multiple-format having a line of a different line in the table and after table definition information having one or plural line format information sets is transferred, a real data is transferred. In transferring the table definition information, the computer 1 checks for the line of the table in order and when the format of the n-th line and the format of the (n+1)th line are dissident, the line format information as to the (n+1)th line is formed and when they are coincident, the value of the (n) is revised. Thus, the transfer efficiency is improved in such as way.
