PURPOSE:To inhibit fluidization of deliquescence and to make handling and confirmation of moisture absorption limit easy by constituting a dehumidifying agent with deliquescent salts having hygroscopic properties and polysaccharides which swell with water of normal temp. to gel. CONSTITUTION:Deliquescent salts having hygroscopic properties such as CaCl2 and polysaccharides such as carboxymethyl cellulose and glucomannan having gelling properties by swelling with water of normal temp. are granulated or pulverized and thereafter mixed. Thus, the obtained duhumidifying agent is sealed in a bag or a vessel made of a moisture permeable film or nonwoven fabric to use. Since humidifying agent gels according to water absorption, the moisture absorption limit can be confirmed when the dehumidifying agent in service has attained the limit.
