PURPOSE:To dehydrate excretion residue or sludge simultaneously and effectively by one dehydrator, by guiding sewage passed through an excretion residue removing process to a water treatment process while directly supplying the removed excretion residue to a screw press type dehydrator to dehydrate the same. CONSTITUTION:In the treatment of excretion 1, the generation amount of sludge 8 in an activated sludge treatment process 6 is low at the beginning of operation and only the excretion residue removed in an excretion residue removing process 2 is dehydrated by a screw press 4 and the dehydration of the sludge 8 is simultaneously performed with the generation of the sludge 8. The screw press 4 is constituted by providing a cake discharge port 15, of which the opening degree is regulated by a taper cone 14, to one end of an outer screen cylinder 13 in which the screw shaft 12 having a screw blade 11 provided thereto is provided. Further, a sludge supply port 17 communicated with a hopper 16 and an excretion residue supply port 18 are separately provided in the vicinity of the other end of said outer cylinder 13 and the former 17 is provided to the upstream side of the latter 18.
