PURPOSE:A carcinostatic agent containing 3-(6-isocyano-3,7-dioxatricyclo[4.1.0. 0<2>,<4>]heptan-4-yl)propenoic acid as an active constituent. CONSTITUTION:A carcinostatic agent containing a compound, expressed by the formula, and isolated from a culture fluid obtained by cultivating a microorganism which is a mold, producing an antibiotic substance No.2188 (FERM-P No. 142), and belonging to the genus Penicillium aerobically at 20-30 deg.C as an active constituent. The compound expressed by the formula is newly found to have improved carcinostatic action. The above-mentioned compound is orally or parenterally administered in 250-500mg dose by oral administration and 100- 200mg dose by parenterally administration for humans of 60kg body weight preferably in 1-4 portions.
