The invention relates to a process for producing sacks for bulk material from a continuously layflat plastic tube, the sacks having, in a side wall in the vicinity of a transverse weld seam, a filling slit which extends parallel to said seam and under which is disposed a film strip which serves as a separating means and is fastened to the side wall. In addition to the filling slit, a working slit parallel to the latter is cut in the raised side wall of the plastic tube, through which working slit the separating means is introduced, and, after the fastening of the separating means, the sack is completed with transverse weld seams in such a manner that the working slit is disposed between adjacent transverse weld seams. In order that weaknesses in the sack caused by weld seams are eliminated, in the production of gusseted sacks the working slit and the filling slit are to be cut simultaneously into the raised side wall, a separating means, the width of which corresponds to the distance between the inner edges of the gussets and the thickness of which corresponds to twice the wall thickness of the plastic tube, is to be introduced, and the transverse weld seam is to be laid continuously across the gussets and the separating means arranged between the inner edges of the gussets. |
