PURPOSE:To simplify the working stages and to improve the yield by carrying out electrolytic oxidation in absolute alcohol contg. an alkali metallic halide in an inert atmosphere using a metallic tin anode. CONSTITUTION:Absolute alcohol contg. an alkali metallic halide such as sodium chloride is used as an electrolytic soln. A metallic tin anode and a cathode such as a platinum plate are immersed in the electrolytic soln., and electrolytic oxidation is carried out in an inert atmosphere. Tin alkoxide is obtd. in a high yield in said simplified stages.
