PURPOSE:To recognize correctly a key input, and to cause no wrong input by constituting the titled device so that a display of each key in a keyboard can be changed at every function mode. CONSTITUTION:A display controller 3 generates a display conforming with a function mode of a function key 2, in a display device 1. An input position recognizing device 4 recognizes which key an operator has depressed in the device 1, and its position in the horizontal direction and the vertical direction, respectively, by an LED and a photodiode PD. A display input recognizing device 5 recognizes by which function mode and which key on a keyboard the operator has depressed, by the device 4 and the function key 2, and transmits the contents of a display of an input character key inputted by the operator, to other de vice to which a keyboard device is connected, by a code corresponding to said contents.
