PURPOSE:To give beautiful beads of fine waving i an arc welding electrode having a coating material of specific composition by adding a specific amt. of CaO, etc. in said material and specifying the oxygen amt. of the iron powder thereof and the carbon content of a disoxidizing agent. CONSTITUTION:The composition of a coating material for a coated arc welding electrode for fillet welding is 1,028wt% SiO2, 4-25wt% TiO2, 30-60wt% iron powder, and 5-15wt% a disoxidizing agent. >=1 kind of CaO, CaCO3, MgO, MgCO3 are added at 1-10wt% in total to this coating material. The oxygen amt. of the iron powder contained is set at 0.12-0.60wt% based on the entire weight of the coating material and the total carbon content of the iron powder and the disoxidizing agent at 0.035-0.75wt% based on the total weight of the coating material. Thereby, the appearance of beads is improved considerably. |
