PURPOSE:To improve the service durability or the like, by temporarily holding a part of abrasive grains with a low-melting metal on the surface of a master base metal, enclosing the grains with a deposit, mounting the master on the grindstone substrate, and melting the low-melting metal to braze it on the grindstone substrate. CONSTITUTION:Carbide abrasive grains 3 are dispersed on the surface 2 of a master base metal 1 and are bonded thereto with a low-melting alloy such as tin. A deposit 5 of nickel or the like is then formed on the metallic layer 401 so as to interpose the grains 3 therebetween. This structure constitutes a grindstone master 6. A plurality of holes 10 are formed from the surface 501 of the deposit 5 to the metallic layer 401. The grindstone master 6 is then mounted on a substrate 7 such that the grindstone side 3 is contacted with the substrate. This structure is heated to melt the low-melting metal 4 to cause it to penetrate into a gap S between the substrate 7 and the deposit 5 through the holes 10, whereby the deposit 5 is brazed to the substrate 7. According to this constitution, the service durability and the grains holding ability can be improved.
