CONSTITUTION:The length of a steel plate 1, which has passed an electromagnet 3, when an index is attached by the electromagnet 3 from the detection of the arrival of the steel plate 1 by a detector 7, is the sum of the product (betaV0) of a moving speed Vo and the sum beta of the delay time of detection of the detector 7 and the delay time to the actual magnetization after the electromagnet 3 is energized and a length Lf of the steel plate.
