PURPOSE:To attain system control and maintenance operation without forming an exclusive console by forming a route changeover switch in a host computer and turning the switch. CONSTITUTION:At the time of data processing operation, the changeover switch 39 is turned to the data processing side and a processor 30 decided a data processing mode and transmits/receives data to/from the host computer 1. For instance, the contents of a picture memory 37 are displayed on a display 33a by a display control unit 33 and the contents of a picture memory 37 are applied to a specific picture processing commanded by a picture processing unit 35. At the time of system control and maintenance operation, the switch 39 is turned to the maintenance side and data are transmitted/received between the host computer 1 and a system control/maintenance interface 14. Thus, the display 33a and a keyboard 32 can be used as processing and maintenance consoles.
