PURPOSE:To reduce the contact pressure between a magnetic head and recording medium so as to protect the medium from wearing, by detecting the contact pressure between the recording medium and head and controlling a piezo-electric bender. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head 2 contacts with a magnetic disk 1 put between the two arms of the head 2 with a preset very weak contact pressure. When the relative position of the disk 1 and head 2 is displaced due to disturbances, such as surface fluctuation of disk 1 track search, etc., a leaf spring 10 is bent and the strain gauge of sensors 11 adhered to both surfaces of the leaf spring 10 detects the change in the contact pressure corresponding to the deflection quantity. The detected change in the contact pressure is fed back to a front piezo- electric bender 14 and rear piezo-electric bender 15 as a voltage and the benders 14 and 15 are deformed. When the benders 14 and 15 are deformed, the contact pressure between the disk 1 and head 2 is returned to the set value, and thus, the preset very weak contact pressure is maintained. |
