PURPOSE:To enable a continuous production of a resin pellet which has an improved mechanical strength, by a method wherein fiber roving is treated in a surface-treating liquid in which a coupling agent and graphite are suspended, and processed fiber strand covered with thermoplastic resins by the use of a mold is cut. CONSTITUTION:A converging agent on a linear fiber strand 2, converging several tens-thousands single fibers, is removed by washing in a washing bath 3, and the linear fiber strand dried in a drying device 4 is surface-treated in a surface-treating bath 6 containing graphite and a coupling agent solution 5. Linear fiber strand thus treated is then covered with thermoplastic resins fed from an extruder 9 when it passes through a mold 8, and the resultant fiber strand is then drawn in a line by a drawing device 10, being cut to the lengths of about 1-10mm. each by means of a cutter 7. This enables the production of a reinforced thermoplastic resin pellet 20 which is constituted such that line strands 21 are arranged in thermoplastic resins 22 in parallel along the axial direction over the full length of the pellet 20. |
