PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound, storable and transportable for a long period, and useful as an agricultural chemical and insecticide, etc., by adding a specific amount of a benzene derivative or cyclohexene, etc. to stabilize O,O- dimethyldithiophosphorylphenylacetic acid. CONSTITUTION:>=1mol total of one or more compounds of a compound group expressed by formula II (X is H, methyl or halogen), e.g. toluene, or a compound, e.g. cyclohexene, is added to 2mol O,O-dimethyldithiophosphorylphenylacetic acid expressed by formula I to give the aimed compound having high stability. The O,O-dimethyldithiophosphorylphenylacetic acid can be produced by reacting O,O-dimethyldithiophosphonic acid with alpha-bromophenylacetic acid, and esterifying the resultant product.
