PURPOSE:To vary the shift ratio and to improve the operability of a cursor shift device by supplying the mouse shift amount to a numerical register which counts the cursor shift amount directly or with division. CONSTITUTION:The shift amount of a mouse 1 is supplied to a cursor control circuit 2, and the circuit 2 shift a cursor on a screen of a display device 3 according to the shift amount of the mouse 1. In case the cursor has a large skip on the screen of the device 3, the pressure given to the mouth 1 from an operator is reduced. Then a metallic ball 5 is pressed by the power of a spring 6 and then supported by an outer frame 4. Thus the mouse 1 is driven on the surface 10 while it is protruded downward. Therefore the ball 5 has no electrical contact with a metallic plate 7. Thus the voltage of a high level is obtained at the end part of a lead wire 10 together with a signal 100 set at a high level. As a result, an AND gate 11 is opened and a signal 200 showing the vertical or horizontal shift amount of the mouse 1 is supplied to a numerical register 19 via the gate 11 and an OR circuit 17.
