PURPOSE:To enhance the long-term preservation stability of food, by providing a specific resin protective coating layer onto a steel plate coming to a specific tin plating layer after the application of resin protective coating to form a coated steel plate of which the corrosion characteristic value is adjusted to a specific numerical value or less and using said coated steel plate as the member of a can body. CONSTITUTION:As a tin plated steel plate, one, of which the tin plating layer after the application of resin protective coating consists of a tin/iron alloy layer with tin content of 0.15-1.19g/m<2> and a tin layer with tin content of 0.01- 1.05g/m<2>, is used, In this case, a resin protective coating layer is provided in order to enhance close adhesiveness to the tin plated layer, corrosion resistance and flavor preventing effect. In the protective coating layer, a thermosetting epoxy/phenol resin paint is used and, especially, a paint containing a phenol resin containing 65wt% or more of a resole type phenol resin formed from bisphenol A and a bisphenol A type epoxy resin with a number average MW of 1,400-7,000 in a wt. ratio of 50/50-5/95 is used.
