PURPOSE:To remove completely a smear generated in case of using an interline type CCD image pickup device by closing a gate at least one after an exposure is ended, transferring a vertical shift register, and thereafter, starting a read-out operation. CONSTITUTION:A luminous flux transmitted through a lens system L is made to form an image on a photodetecting surface of an interline type CCD2 through a diaphragm S and a shutter SS. A signal output of the CCD2 is inputted to a signal processing circuit 4, brought to a signal processing such as a gamma correction, encoding, etc., and sent to a recording circuit 6. The recording circuit 6 FM-modulates an input signal, sends it to a recording head 8 and records it in a magnetic disk 10. In this case, this device is constituted so that control signals phiTG1, phiTG2 of a transfer gate are not inputted to a CCD driver 56 at least during 1V after the shutter SS is closed, and during this time, a charge generated by an incident light to a vertical shift register of the CCD2 is transferred. In this way, a smear is removed completely. |
