PURPOSE:To provide the titled composition compounded with fibers having specific length, giving a molded article having remarkably improved strength, and suitable for the parts of vehicle, etc. CONSTITUTION:All components of a phenolic resin composition except for fibers are kneaded and crushed, and fibers (e.g. asbestos, glass fibers, etc.) having a fiber length of 2-9omega are added to the mixture and lightly mixed. As an alternative method, a composition compounded with fibers having fiber length of longer than 2-9mm. is mixed and crushed to break the fibers to 2-9mm. length. The amount of the fiber is preferably 20-70wt% based on the whole composition.
