PURPOSE:To reduce labor in a metal mold polishing operation by providing a spindle on which a grinding wheel with a shape corresponding to a metal mold surface is mounted, and a rotating mechanism and a moving mechanism for the spindle and a metal-mold fixing table, on a metal mold polishing machine which polishes a plastic product molding metal mold. CONSTITUTION:A grinding wheel 3 which is formed to have a surface corresponding to a metal mold having surface to be polished such as a recessed part, a complicatedly curved surface, etc., is installed on a spindle 4. As with the grinding wheel 3, many types of standard articles are available on the market, enabling selection in accordance with the accuracy in polishing surface and use. The grinding wheel 3 is formed by cutting, etc. into a surface corresponding to a metal mold surface which is to be polished by means of, e.g., a numerically controlled grinder. The spindle 4 is rotated through the rotation of a rotating mechanism, e.g., an air motor. The number of rotation is adjusted in the range of several to 100,000 rotations. The grinding wheel 3 and the spindle 4 can be freely moved right and left and up and down by means of a moving mechanism provided on a fixing table 5.
