PURPOSE:To obtain high-quality reproduced pictures at varying speeds, by taking information indicating the positional relation of plural rotary heads and recording tracks at a prescribed timing in advance of the commencement of reproduction of video signals by a prescribed period. CONSTITUTION:Counters A102 and B103, in which initial data are inputted, count the narrow pulse of a frequency which is double of an FG signal generated from a pulse generating circuit B112 in the same way as a counter P101. Moreover, the counter A102 and B103 count clock pulse signals CL irrespective of a tape speed inputted from a terminal 210 through a pulse generating circuit C113. The output pulse of the pulse generating circuit B112 is introduced to the CD terminal of counters A and B when a tape is run in the positive direction and to the CU terminal when the tape is run in the negative direction. By forming signals for controlling a fetching changing means in advance of a reproduction starting timing by a prescribed period in such a way, high-quality reproduced pictures at varying speeds can be obtained while the changing means is stably operated. |
