A multi-purpose device comprises a freezing tank in which a two speed driven shaft is rotatably held. A whisk or whipping tool is secured to the shaft near the bottom of the tank, and a freezing tool is removably secured in rotation to the shaft, when desired. The device can combine the two basic functions of the complete process of producing ice cream: whipping and freezing, in the same tank.
