NEW MATERIAL:1-N,N-diallylcarbamoyl-3-allyl-5-fluorouracil shown by the formula I . USE:Useful as an intermediate for synthesizing 1-N,N-bis(2,3-epoxypropyl)carbamoyl-3-(2,3-epoxypropyl)-5-fluorouracil having carcinostatic activity. PREPARATION:1-N-allylcarbamoyl-5-fluorouracil shown by the formula II is reacted with an allyl halide [shown by the formula III (X is Cl, Br, or I), and allyl chloride, allyl brimide, etc. may be cited] in the presence of a deoxidizer usually at room temperature -100 deg.C for 5-100hr preferably in a polar solvent such as dimethylformamide, etc. to give a compound shown by the formula I . Triethylamine, alkali carbonate, etc. may be used as the deoxidizer, and an amount of it used is preferably 2.2-3.0mol based on 1mol compound shown by the formula I .
