An overrun brake for a semitrailer is disclosed, which can be rotatably coupled to the semitrailer plate of a tractor by way of a trolley-pivot. Measures are taken to prevent the vertical support forces exerted by the tractor on the semitrailer from influencing any parts of the overrun brake. For this purpose, it is proposed that the trolley-pivot be fixed on a slider, which is connected to the frame of the semitrailer so that it can slide in the direction of travel, that the displacement travel of the slider in the direction of travel be limited by an abutment fixed on the frame of the semitrailer and that an overrun brake mechanism of a known type be incorporated into the semitrailer, the actuating pivot of which, displaceable counter to the direction of travel, is spring-supported on a stop of the slider.
